Marcel Proust (July 10, 1871 – 1922) was a French novelist, critic and essayist. He is buried at Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris.

History[edit | edit source]

Proust's birthdate as a combination lock

In Wes Anderson's rendition of Peter Gets Fired, Proust's date of birth was used as Peter's combination lock for his penny-farthing.[1]

When Stewie was lost in Paris, he made his way into Père Lachaise Cemetery, Proust's resting place. Stewie was eventually found by Brian and Quagmire at Proust's tombstone, which contained the quote: "The paradoxes of today are the prejudices of tomorrow, since the most benighted and the most deplorable prejudices have had their moment of novelty when fashion lent them its fragile grace." After Brian apparently understood the quote's meaning, Stewie said he missed him being an "unrelenting douchebag."[2]
