Richard James Appel (born May 21, 1963) is an American writer, producer and former attorney. He is currently an executive producer of Family Guy. He served as an executive producer and, along with Seth MacFarlane and Mike Henry, co-created The Cleveland Show. He previously served as a co-executive producer of Family Guy, and wrote the show's seventh season episode "Family Gay". He also wrote the "Pilot" episode of The Cleveland Show.
